Airworthiness

Certificate of Airworthiness

Initial or Renewal

A Certificate of Airworthiness application shall be submitted via the online portal. The application must be submitted by the nominated CAMO or the Technical Co-ordinator. Once the application has been received, an Airworthiness Project Manager will be appointed to support the application.

2-REG offers a choice of Type Certificates (TC) from five different jurisdictions: EASA, FAA, UK CAA, Transport Canada and ANAC (Brazil).

Aircraft Maintenance Programme

Aircraft granted a Certificate of Airworthiness shall be maintained in accordance with an approved maintenance programme (AMP). The AMP approval application shall be submitted via the online portal. The application must be submitted by the nominated CAMO or the Technical Co-ordinator. The requirements for the AMP can be consulted in GAR 39.

Export Certificate of Airworthiness

An importing State may request an Export CofA. The State of Import is responsible for accepting deviations and determining the period for which it will accept it as valid. A Guernsey Export CofA has been accepted by 90+ countries. An application may be submitted via the link below.

Permit to Fly

A Permit to Fly is only applicable for aircraft that cannot obtain a Certificate of Airworthiness and may be issued in specific circumstances. OEM support may be required when applying for a PTF. An application may be submitted via the link below.

Modifications

Minor modifications may be validated for the following jurisdictions: EASA, FAA, UK CAA, Transport Canada or ANAC (Brazil). Major modifications need to be the same as the selected TCDS, or a bilateral must be in place between the jurisdictions. An application may be submitted via the link below.

Rectification Interval Extension (RIE)

Private and Commercial operators can apply for an RIE to seek temporary extensions for the rectification of aircraft defects. This process allows flexibility while maintaining strict adherence to safety and compliance standards. An application may be submitted via the link below.

Maintenance Organisations (145) and CAMO (39) Option 2 Approvals

When an organisation does not hold a current EASA, FAA, UK or TCCA approval, 2-REG can issue a standalone Option 2 approval. The process to obtain an Option 2 approval includes submitting relevant manuals compliant with the GARs and an on-site audit. A pre-application meeting will be held to discuss the process, all aspects of the proposed operation and expectations. An application may be submitted via the link below.

Technical Co-ordinator

For each aircraft, continuing airworthiness needs to be managed as required by the GARs. If the owner of an aircraft does not choose to have the continuing airworthiness of its aircraft managed by a CAMO, the owner can nominate a Technical Co-ordinator.

Acceptance of a Technical Co-ordinator is specific to a specific owner and a specific aircraft as identified by aircraft type and serial number.

Further requirements can be found in GAR 39.

An application for the Technical
Co-ordinator Acceptance can be submitted below:
